Going to New York and making some good pictures would be a dream?

I'm going to New York, and although I have been there 4 other times. I have a main problem, every single time I make INCREDIBLY AMATEUR LOW QUALITY PICTURES. I have been to all the tourist attractions there is to see, but I want some great pictures with different effects to show off to the friends on facebook. I have an Iphone and a Kodak basic flash camera. How to make desired effects, and beautiful pictures with these tools I ask?! Thank you so much
