My Kodak camera lens is stuck?

My Kodak EasyShare M381 camera lens is stuck open. My friend was using it to take a picture of the both of us, and I was watching, so I know she didn't drop it or anything, but she tried to take the picture, but the camera froze while focusing (the yellow brackets that focus on a person's face were still on the screen) and the camera wouldn't operate. I pressed all of the buttons, and tried to power it off multiple times, but nothing worked. The camera powered off by itself, but didn't retract the lens, so it's still open all the way. It was literally frozen. I've been trying to turn it back on for ever but nothing is working still. I have checked other yahoo answers and google searched it, but I keep getting the 'take the batteries' out situations, but my camera is chargeable and doesn't have batteries. I could always buy a new one, but I'm hoping that somebody can help me. Thanks.
