Good 1080p video camera for less than $300?

Hey, I'm currently looking for a video camera (or digital camera) that shoots good 1080p full HD.I have the kodak zi8 right now, and I wanted to know if there's anything on the market that shoots better than that for a reasonable price (about $300 give or take) I was looking at the nikon coolpix's and canon powershots, however, I do not know if the quality is any better considering they're primarily point and shoot cameras.Please let me know what I should do/get...thank you!
