Can you explain why my camera battery wont charge?

Kodak digital camera, bought a new battery a few months ago, have a wall charger for it where you take the battery out, and put it in a little cartridge thing and plug it into the wall to charge. my battery was dead in the camera for maybe two months, now it wont charge. can i fix this? what the f*ck happened
